Adam Bauer has nearly 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry as an executive, professional services leader, and technology implementer. He recently joined Optum as Vice President, Analytics Services. Previously, he served a Partner at IBM Watson Health Consulting, where he led the Provider Services team for North America and oversaw Digital Health Transformation solutions.

Adam’s experience spans multiple Fortune 100 companies and Big 4 consulting firms. Adam began his career with NTT Data, focusing on Enterprise Resource Planning systems and healthcare information technology strategy. From NTT, Adam joined OptumInsight (a division of UnitedHealth Group’s Optum business), where he was involved in developing and leading services around Electronic Health Record evaluation, selection, and implementation. Following OptumInsight, Adam moved to Deloitte Consulting. At Deloitte, Adam advanced as a senior manager and practice leader for Integrated Health solutions, selling and delivering complex projects, connecting physical, behavioral and social care through technology. He held multiple internal and project-based leadership roles related to healthcare technology evaluation and implementation, and acted as the primary relationship owner for numerous vendor partners. Adam transitioned to a leadership role in Ernst & Young’s Americas Healthcare Innovation + Digital practice group, driving global deal support, advisory consulting engagements, and practice management, before joining IBM in 2020.

Across his experience, Adam has designed and led delivery of business and technology solutions for dozens of diverse clients, including state and provincial governments, complex health systems, community hospitals, human services agencies, behavioral health providers, and long-term care organizations. He maintains a strong grasp of successful technology adoption strategies and the function and interplay of clinical, financial, and enterprise software across the healthcare value chain.

Adam graduated from Butler University with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, earned his MBA from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester (NY), and later completed a Certificate of Advanced Study in Information Management from the University of Texas at Austin. He lives in the Dallas area with his wife, Ashley. Adam is a craft cocktail enthusiast and self-published fiction author, and as the seasons permit, an avid skier and wilderness explorer.
