About Us
Caduceus Capital Partners is a venture capital group founded in 2020 by Dave Vreeland and Scott Kolesar as a response to the exponential rise in importance of digital health during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our team’s digital health experience spans more than three decades, and we have a deep understanding of the key factors driving industry disruption and transformation.
Throughout this period, our team members have founded, grown, and invested in companies that have delivered solutions for payers, providers, and life sciences organizations. These companies have covered all areas of digital health, including:
- Consumerism
- Value-based Care
- Federal/State Enablement
- Operations & Cost Transformation
- Therapeutic Area Transformation
- Emerging Technologies
- Regulatory/Special Emergent Opportunities
Firm Leadership
Both are veteran healthcare technology consultants, having worked together at Ernst & Young in the mid-1990s. Scott also held positions at Optum and Deloitte, while Dave co-founded Cumberland Consulting Group. In 2017, Dave and Scott began working together again, this time at Jumpstart Capital where they successfully led investments in 11 early-stage digital health companies.
Venture Partners
Affectionately known as “The Syndicate,” our venture partner team comprises 14 senior healthcare and entrepreneurial executives who serve as a collective third partner for the fund. As active participants in the digital health seed-stage investing process, they are responsible for:
- Discovering, sourcing, and vetting startups
- Holding positions on 1-3 portfolio company boards of directors
- Supporting fund investment decisions
- Advising portfolio company executives
This unique innovation brings enormous advantages to our investors and entrepreneurs. The Syndicate exponentially expands Caduceus’s deal flow, management and sales relationships, ability to support board and advisory work, and exits.
