John Johnston brings a wealth of experience in healthcare finance and administration to his role as executive venture partner with Caduceus Capital Partners. He currently is a senior executive in Optum Insight and leads Optum Advisory teams serving both provider and payer clients across the country. Optum Advisory provides consulting and managed services resources covering strategic growth, operational and clinical performance, care management, value-based care, financial operations, IT and digital performance, and analytics and risk management performance.
John previously led Optum’s provider market advisory practice and led the development of Optum’s managed services offerings in hospital care management, supply chain, and enterprise transformation services.
Prior to joining Optum, John was a senior leader with Advisory Board. Earlier in his career he held senior executive roles with Quorum Health Resources, Premier Inc, and financial leadership positions at two community hospital systems.
John is a CPA and holds a Master of Healthcare Administration degree from Trinity University. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Carson-Newman University.
